11.15 Dublin, Ireland

It’s hard to believe that yesterday we were in Africa. We had a quick stop in Zurich before heading on to Dublin. I am torn, do I count Switzerland as a country? We got in around noon and had the afternoon off. We are leaving for northern Ireland tomorrow morning so we tried to cram as much in as we could. We went to the Temple Bar section of town as well as city center.

We stumbled upon a sea of people heading to a soccer match. On a whim we bought some tickets and spent the late afternoon watching what turned out to be a the championship match! It was a blast. We were rooting for the Shamrocks, the underdogs who ended up losing in a shootout.

Had to document my first pint of Guinness.  

Namibia to Ireland 11.12

Leaving Namibia tonight for Ireland. We go from Windhoek, Namibia to Johannesburg, South Africa to Zurich, Switzerland then finally on to Dublin, Ireland. We have a day off in Ireland tomorrow so I am hoping I get some rest!

Swakopmund, Namibia and Langstrand, Namibia 11.7 - 11.9

We are in a city called Swakopmund, Namibia which is on the south western coast of the African continent. The famous "skeleton coast" is just to our north though we wont be able to make it there because of permitting issues. The town we are in is so strange. There is a HUGE German influence and it feels nothing like Africa, luckily we will be getting out of here pretty soon and getting back to the real Africa.

 This is Swakopmund, Namibia. Germany in Africa. Sleepy little seaside village in the middle of nowhere.  We are WAY off the beaten path.

 Toes in the Atlantic

 We shot in the dunes today. I have never seen anything like it. I just got out of the shower and found sand in some bizarre places. 

 We had to take dune buggies to get out there because our Land Rover got stuck in the sand. 

 Tonight we are in a town called Langstrand, Namibia. We are staying at a Lodge called "The Burning Shore." Total upscale joint. As i checked in and got my key the staff told me that Brad and Angelina rented the whole hotel a couple of years ago. 

I am staying in a room named after one of their sons. I may or may not be sleeping in the bed he was conceived.

We drive 12 hours south tomorrow. 

Namibia, Africa 11.02-11.07

Slowest internet on the planet so I had to pick and choose a few photos. Having the trip of a lifetime and can not wait to post the full res photos. Learning how to shoot a video camera and a still camera at the same time so I can have some photos of my own. Namibia wins so far on this trip. Amazing.

40 feet from this beast. He was so friendly and happy to have us around. He was posing for our photos. The video I shot on my little point and shoot is unreal. When I get better internet I will try and post.

Shredded tire 300 miles from the nearest town in the middle of the Namibian desert. 

We were welcomed into a "Himba" village. We danced, drank some warm curdled milk and traded our jewelry and clothes for some of theirs.

We gave them a ride in our truck. The video I shot on my still camera is hilarious. Can't wait to post.

Going back off the grid for 4 days... All is well 

Namibia, Africa

Made it to Namibia. No Internet for the next 4 days. Sad I know but think of the update I will have for you!

Rosario de la Frontera and Buenos Aires, Argentina 10.26-10.31

The last week in Buenos Aires has been perfect. Hard to believe this is work, except for the multiple 20 hour days of shooting. I really like this country, tons of character and I feel like we have seen a good majority of it.

Here are the highlights.

 Motorcycle riding for the cameras. 

 We had to ride horseback to get to one of our locations. We shot until 4am and had to ride them back that night under an amazing blanket of stars.

 The ex president and current first husband of Argentina (his wife took office after his term expired) passed away on Thursday and on Friday we somehow found ourselves in the funeral procession. It was really cool. Everyone was singing and the streets were jammed packed with people paying there respects. They obviously loved this guy.

We went out Friday and Saturday until the sun came up. We saw a great Argentinean cover band. I may have fallen in love with the lead singer.

We had a fun Halloween. They dont really celebrate the holiday but we did find the one club that was having a party. We were surrounded by american college students studying in argentina, it was one big college party. We stood out.  Gabe, the other camera man and I dressed up as cholos.  

We rode the subway all over the city.  If we started a band this would be our album cover. 

We left Buenos Aires last night and flew to Johannesburg, South Africa. We had the day off here and did some exploring. Too much to see in a day but seemed like a pretty cool city. Tomorrow we are off to Windhoek, Namibia and will be staying on a big game reserve. Should have some cool pictures to come.

Rosaria De La Frontera, Argentina 10.28

Best day of the trip so far. The weather here is just like Los Angeles, sunny and dry, which is a nice change from wet and humid Panama.

We started the day off shooting with some dudes at the local dump. Words cannot describe the smell... unbelievable. 

We were invited to a ranch for lunch and some local entertainment. This dude prepared the most amazing meal on the hood of his beautiful 66 jeep.

We had locally raised Argentinean steak, chorizo and wine.

For dessert, the man sitting next to me pulled out a bag full of coca leaves and handed me a fist full… it would have been rude to turn him down so…

After lunch we shot interviews around the ranch and tired to rope some cattle with zero success. I got to spend the afternoon shooting while riding a dirt bike. It was a total blast. I dropped my camera at lunch today and it did not survive. Going to have to pick up a new one in Buenos Aires in 2 days.
